Fabian Willems
Fabian Willems is a multitalented worshipleader, singer, songwriter, and music producer. He was born in 1974 in Zurich Switzerland, but grew up both in Holland in the city of Utrecht and on the Caribbean Island Curaçao, the Dutch Antilles. He now lives in Holland in a small city in South Limburg called Sittard, together with his beautiful wife Ghiselle and their four kids. Already from childhood he had an ear for music. As a young fatherless teenager he grew up with a sense of brokenness and rejection, but found a sense of hope and purpose when he turned to the Christian faith. He radically accepted Jesus Christ at the age of sixteen and since then music for God became his passion. This started with dance and Christian rap on the streets during evangelic champagnes, youth activities and Gospel concerts. His passion for recording started with writing his own lyrics, making music on a small drum-machine and recording his music on a cassette tape. Soon his heart for worship grew as he continued to developed his musical talent. God gave him a promise that he would be a witness to the nations in these last days, who would transcend every cultural barrier and reach every generation. He continued to be active in church in several functions as a praise and worship leader, music-coordinator, leader of the missionary team, and translator. After obtaining his bachelor degree in Music technology in 2000 he independently distributed two of his own gospel albums titled “It’s Time To Praise The Lord” in 2001 and “But Joy Comes In The Morning” in 2003. He made great music with very little resources, and ministered with his unique voice under Gods anointing. His CD’s were very successful in the afro-American military churches in Germany and Holland. Within the international community he was a regularly well received guest. He even featured in the States in the churches of Atlanta and Texas. Fabian still writes these terrific word-based songs that inspire people. His ministry has continued to grow and over the years Fabian has worked as a praise & worship leader, psalmist, musician, choir-director, deacon and Elder in numerous churches. He also appeared on a few recordings such as “Zing een Nieuw Lied” in 2006 GMI music, where he lended his voice for some terrific leadvocals and backingvocals. Next to that he has also developed his great skills as Producer, as he has produced his phenomenal new album ‘Freedom’, which will be available by April 2010. It will feature new anointed songs from Fabian that release a true refreshing sound within Christian music. Fabian is a great man of God who can relate to and collaborate with anybody. Fabian has never conformed himself to one music genre, but his strength lays in combining music styles hence enabling him to work all-round within all forms of cultural backgrounds. Within his music there are influences of Black Gospel, Rock, Country, Classical Music, R&B, Soul, Pop, Jazz, Hip Hop, Latin and Caribbean music. Fabian is a true worship leader that always desires to give people an encounter with the living God and make excellent music for Him. Gods favour and anointing is on his life and we will soon hear more of him.
